Celtic FC defender Auston Trusty is excited about the prospect of hosting Bayern Munich in the Champions League,

“We are all really excited. It’s a great opportunity for the club and also us individually, and it’s one us as a collective have to take advantage of and play our game. I back this team with everything. I think when we are on it and we play our game with the right mindset as a collective then I would truly back us against anybody. So, it’s up to us,” said Trusty (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “I think as a little kid growing up in Pennsylvania, to hear you say that [playing against Bayern in the CL knockouts], I would think you’re lying. For me to have this opportunity to be here playing for Celtic and to be playing Bayern Munich at Celtic Park tomorrow with the fans and the amazing environment and all that, it’s what dreams are made of.”

Trusty, a former Philadelphia Union prospect, has come a long way since his days toiling on the field in Delco. On Wednesday, he will be on the same pitch as Harry Kane. It is crazy how things work sometimes.

Anyway, the entire Celtic backline figures to have its hands full with Kane and the rest of the attacking group. If, however, Trusty and his mates can put together a strong performance and power Celtic to a win, it could be something that Trusty could have never envisioned.
