Scoring Summary:

15’ Martín Ojeda (Iván Angulo) – ORL 1, MIA 0The Lions opened the scoring 15 minutes into the game when Martín Ojeda hit Inter Miami on the counter up the middle of the field. Ojeda slid the ball out wide to Angulo, with the Colombian running the give-and-go to put Ojeda isolated against the Miami goalkeeper. Ojeda calmly chipped the ball to the far post and in for the opener on the night.

22’ Tadeo Allende (Luis Suárez) – ORL 1, MIA 1Inter Miami leveled things up with the Lions just seven minutes later when Luis Suárez and Tadeo Allende displayed their own version of a give-and-go. Allende gave a short pass to Suárez right outside the box before Suárez gave it back to Allende as he slid the ball into the left side of the net for the equalizer.

54’ Ramiro Enrique (Martín Ojeda) – ORL 2, MIA 1Orlando struck back early in the second half with a goal from Ramiro Enrique. Ojeda tallied his second goal contribution on the night with the assist. Ojeda took advantage of a bad touch from an Inter Miami defender and gained possession before he slid the ball to Enrique who then slotted it into the back of the net for the Lions’ second goal of the match.

90’+3’ Fafà Picault – ORL 2, MIA 2In the dying minutes of stoppage time, Inter Miami leveled things up once again on a goal from Fafà Picault. Picault put one in the back of the net off a rebounded save from an Orlando City defender. Robert Taylor’s pass was blocked by Collin Guske in front of goal, but the deflection went right to the feet of Picault who slotted it in for Miami’s second.

Head Coach Oscar Pareja:

“The dynamic of the game was close to what we expected during the season. We are happy with the performance. There are a bunch of positive signs we see from our team and the game that we want to put together and take a week of work in training and see if we can get better. We are happy. I thought we got the objectives accomplished.”
