The Corder Report Department denies fake 'Grade 13' claims

JOHANNESBURG - Recently, a misleading screenshot circulating on TikTok falsely claimed that starting from 1 January 2026, South African basic education would introduce a grade 13, extending high school to grade 13 for students graduating in 2025.

This misinformation garnered significant attention, accumulating over a million views and prompting inquiries from concerned individuals. 

The Department of Basic Education subsequently issued an official statement clarifying that the information was baseless and urged the public not to be misled by such claims.
