Couple continues their Valentines Day tradition of sharing
Longtime lovebirds Bob and Marie Fortin have kept their tradition going for more than 40 years.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU/Gray News) - Longtime lovebirds Bob and Marie Fortin have kept their tradition of signing the same Valentine’s Day card going now for more than 40 years.

The couple has been married for 62 years and the Valentine’s Day card signing is something they have done together since 1982.

“I take up too much space, [had I known] there were going to be that many years writing in it, I wouldn’t have written so big,” Marie Fortin said. “That’s the only thing I feel bad about.”

Bob Fortin added, “She always calls me ‘Bobby’ and I call her ‘Ree’ for Marie. It goes way back.”

The Fortins have also called Anchorage home since the early 1970s.

They said they love the neighborhood where they have raised their two children who have since added two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren to the family tree.

“Thank you for taking care of me and for loving me Ree. As we get older we’ll need each other more. Love you more and more each day,” Bob Fortin shared in a Valentine’s Day message to his wife.

Marie Fortin added, “We are so blessed for God keeping us together.”
